Five Fashion Finds
Happy Friday! Boy, this has been a LONG one, mom.
Quick! Get a load of this cool clothing stuff!
1. All about Karla Welch, the stylist (I’d never heard of who’s) responsible for ALL the celeb style you love, i.e. Ruth Negga, Sarah Paulson, Bush Phillips, “Biebs”- fascinating piece on how she got her start in fashion and how she maintains a devoted clientele.
2. Eventhough I’m on a no-new-clothes-but-all-the-old-clothes cleanse (thanks Etsy and Poshmark), I’m loving this new platform and app for sustainable fashion. Good on You lets you shop trendy stuff and search your favorite brands to see how they rate in a number of ethical categories. Download here.
3. It’s taken me almost a year (of not teaching and being a SAHM) but I think I had to quit my job to find my personal style”. More on this later.
4. Theresa and Corinna Williams started Celsious, a sustainable laundromat in New York (a tad “niche,” but they’re starting a movement, mom!), to make weekly laundry days a bit more enjoyable. It’s beautiful, they’re beautiful... I can’t get enough.
That about does it!
But what you been thinking about style-wise? You into this sustainable stuff? Where are you getting your goodies?
Also, I’m headed to warmer weather next week! May be a little light on the posting!
Enjoy your weekend, Mom!!
p.s. On account of Earth Month, enter to win TONS of sustainable stuff (from Reformation, Package Free Shop, etc.) here!
P.p.s. Cover photo features a bunch of stuff I’ve gotten used lately (with the exception of the pink half moon buddies my sis got me for my bday last May). Shoes are G.H. Bass from Poshmark- bucket bag is J. crew from Poshmark- Daisy earrings, polka dot top are from a local vintage shop called “A Secret Closet” in Chicago- sunglasses are from Etsy shop called “Found Frames.”
