Hey mom!

Here are some light spots from a dark week...

1.  The official portraits of the Obamas were revealed this week, to rave reviews.

2.  Nina Chanel Abney has a solo show at Chicago Cultural Center.  Her work is bold, graphic, and politically charged.  I’m pumped it see it IRL.

3.  My fave data journalist Mona Chalabi just came out with a new podcast called “Strange Bird, a podcast about things that can make us feel lonely.”  I just LOVED the first episode about miscarriage... I’ve had 2 and, even though it’s SO common, it’s still SO isolating.  Chalabi tries finds out why.  Listen and see real-time pics of data and speakers here OR Listen like a normal podcast here

Unrelated but worth perusing My Favorite Skincare Products under $30 (The Strategist).  I’m trying out this “routine” and it features a lot of the same products.  So, far, I’m into it.

5.  Pitchfork says listening this beaty will “soothe your troubles.”

 “It’s such a crazy world, you’ll see.”

At least it’s Friday.

Stay Cool,

-Cathleen
