Steal Her Style: Solange Supreme, for all you Business Moms
Hey mom! I'm excited to share the second installment of Steal Her Style! It's fun to channel a celeb or style concept to make getting dressed easier and more celebratory. I've shared mine with you and given you all the secrets to stealing "French Girl" style, a la Jeanne Damas, without buying a thing! This week: Solange Supreme.
Boy oh boy, it's been hard to figure out just what makes Solange's style so steal-worthy. I did a lot of research!
Two things I discovered:
1) She's always dressed up! Trousers, skirts, suits, dresses. I searched and searched for pics of her wearing "street clothes". Truth is, she's worn jeans a total of two times. And I already stole one of those looks way back in July.
2) Dressing up like Solange means somehow managing to be conservative, wild, and totally unique.
Alright but, what if your "pure self" feels like pounding twenty pilsners after days and days of diaper rash and demands for Paw Patrol? This is when you need to steal. her. style. Big time.
Business moms! Sick of your boring work attire? Wanna be bold and bossy while you write that brief? Steal her style!
Here's how to get it:
Style Steal #1: Pick your most structured clothes (crisp white shirts, trousers, blazers) and wear them at the same time.
Style Steal #2: Button the top button OR don't wear a shirt (is this allowed?)
Style Steal #3: Embrace monochrome. If you can wear all white, do it! Variations of the same color? You MUST!
Style Steal #4: Choose bold colors, like orange, electric blue, red, and yellow. If you don't own this kinda stuff, move on to #5, #6, #7.
Style Steal #5: Opt for rich textures, like silk and fur. Again, if you don't own, move on to #6 and #7.
Style Steal #6: Have fun with statement accessories. Round bags, big earrings.
Style Steal #7: Go bold with some statement makeup! Try purple eye shadow and 80s lip colors. And, OMG, if you can, try BIG HAIR.
There you have it. Style, stolen.
And here's your new mantra:
"I'm not a business-mom, I'm a business, mom!" -Solange's Brother-in-Law
IF you're desperate for Solange Supreme and your current wardrobe just isn't gonna cut it, these 3 items will help!
I chose practical colors here, because you never know whose style you'll steal next! And you'll want to be ready (and not spend all your hard-earned business mom money)!
Stick around for more fashion thievery! See you next Friday!
