Fashion Friday: Jemima Kirke
Ok so it's not really Friday, but I'm really excited about this first post, so here goes...
Currently vibing on...
Jemima Kirke. Loved her style and think she's a real badass artist, too. In this interview with Semaine, she illustrates answers to a few questions posed by a strange robot-reporter-man. In the background, you can see her studio as well as some of her paintings, which remind me a lot of Alice Neel.
Her character on Girls, Jessa, is loosely-based on Kirke herself (the show was written by her long-time friend, Lena Dunham). Jessa fancies herself spontaneous and nonconformist. Her style in Season 6 is a little more refined than previous seasons, but still mismatchy and bohemian. Key pieces: Mom jeans (get you some, see below), clogs, gold necklaces, and messy hair.
Here are a few pics:
If you want the look, mom, you gotta get the mom jeans. By this I mean, straight leg, high waisted, non-stretchy. I highly recommend the Levi's Wedgie. They run small, so buy a size up. I even bought the mom jean shorts and they're just as good! They might be tight at first but, never fear, they will stretch- just don't put them in the dryer! If you're digging the whole look, check out the pics and links below.
