Fashion Friday: Gettin' Weird with Summer Footwear
Happy Friday, Mom!
I heard somewhere that people with style always go "weird" with (at least) one item of clothing. Cool dressers stand out because they choose something bold or unexpected as an accessory or the main event.
My sister Maggie lived in London and says stylish British women have loads of wild shoes. And since I've been liking the look of my mom jeans and tees most days, I'm thinking footwear might be where I'll be totally unruly!
But, I have rules:
1. They need to be flat. This is Chicago. Heels are for weddings, weekends (never mine) and work (never, EVER, mine). Plus, I got kids.
2. They need not to have bows, feathers, or faux fur/shearling. If you're into this, you can find it everywhere, all on sale, now.
3. They need to be sandals. It's summer and my toes need to BREATHE.
4. Most important... They need to be WEIRD. And by weird I mean, when I wear them with my mom jeans, I'll get some looks, hopefully even some jeers.
I've looked and looked for shoes that fit the bill. Here's what I found:
POOL SHOES: These seem cushy and nice for a mom with wide feet.
TEVAS: Don't hate! Solange approves. They won't slide off when you're wrangling sweaty bodies all day.
OTHER WEIRD SANDALS:
What do you think, mom? Which ones are you gonna help you get weird?
