Women Rule: Solange in my City!
Moms! The ULTIMATE mom is coming to Chicago!
Ever since this off-the-charts-cool mom/son moment, I can't get enough Solange.
And then she went and made A Seat at the Table, which is perfection, and the whole world agrees.
As if releasing killer music on her own damn record label (Saint Records) isn't enough, Solange is devoted to promoting budding Black artists. She's preforming at Pitchfork Music Festival this weekend and bringing with her dozens of Black filmmakers, visual artists, poets, and musicians who will be showcased via the Saint Heron House (the collaborative Solange started to support these artists). Check out the events, including a poetry reading by Young Chicago Authors! Doesn't get much cooler.
Since some of you moms may be headed to Union Park (or Stony Island Arts Bank or Soho House or the Promontory) to pay homage to the mother goddess, I put together an outfit, complete with festival-appropriate fanny pack, which is inspired by a Solange "street" look from last summer.
See you in Chi-town, Solange!
